The Kind Of People We Need In Washington

by Joshua P. Allem

When watching the British comedy, "Yes, Prime Minister" I think about the devolution of the conservative movement within the Republican Party. The highly contagious virus of political bureaucratic zombies seems to overwhelm even the strongest conservative once they enter the most heavily populated zone of infection... Washington. Apparently, even ideology is no longer an effective guide for voters to make wise decisions. What kind of people do we need in Washington? What kind of people are immune to this highly contagious disease? What is the inoculation for such a virus? And how can we tell who has been inoculated and who hasn't? And how does this apply to the resignation of Sarah Palin?
